Jackie here and I'm here to tell you all about the new DM system. First off, for those who do not know, a DM system is when a person called the Dungeon Master plays the narrator, NPCs, and generic/boss beings in a game. On this site, all staff shall take part as DMs. The DM's job is to explain weather occurrences, play as wild Pokemon and trainers the player encounters, and regulate when items shall be found outside of cities and towns. After your first post or the first post of every roleplayer in your forum, you must wait for the DM to appear and narrate what happens. The DM will not always appear immediately, so give them 3-4 days to appear in your forum. Also, name all players in your roleplay in parenthesis at the top of your post or just put solo in order to have the DM post at the correct time.
Weather
Depending on the season and area, different weather can happen and therefore effect battle in many ways. Sunshine, Rain, Hail, Sandstorm, and Fog are all examples of the weather conditions that can happen. This will be decided with a probability calculator online and added into narration by the DM. Do not argue if the effect is undesirable. It is random. Deal with it.
Wild Pokemon
Encounters with wild Pokemon are as random as the game. You can specifically avoid these kind of encounters by mentioning you are staying on the path/avoiding tall grass, however there will be areas where you can't avoid the chance of this happening(Such as caves and oceans) and there will be a chance of encountering a wild Pokemon regardless. The latest version of an area will be used to determine what Pokemon you can encounter, chance of encounter, and the level of the Pokemon you encounter. The DM will control the wild Pokemon and determine the effectiveness of the attacks against each Pokemon.
NPC Trainer Battles
When and where you meet NPC trainers while traveling will depend on how popular an area is to people. Though the DM can choose when they have a trainer appear, the player can choose to decline the challenge and move on. However, if you are attacked by a member of one of the criminal organizations or are a criminal an officer is trying to arrest, you will have no option but to battle. If you lose to a criminal, one or more items WILL be taken. Officers will take you to the nearest town to jail, releasing you later. Every trainer will have Pokemon a little tougher than the average Pokemon in the area you battle in. The DM will play the trainer as well as their Pokemon. They will also decide the effectiveness of attacks made by both Pokemon.
Items
Finding items laying around is a rare thing, one regulated by a probability calculator. Once the item is found, the item found will be chosen based on the area it was found in.
Thank you for reading this, if you have any questions, please reply with them and they will be answered as soon as possible.
